Alexandra Tolia, PhD

Alexandra Tolia founded Rhea BioVentures and is the Managing Partner of Rhea Venture Partners. Holding a PhD in Medical Sciences and an Executive Master’s in General Management, Alexandra brings over two decades of venture capital investing, company building and drug development expertise . Before launching Rhea BioVentures, she was a Partner at Fund+, and held investment roles at PMV and Hunza Ventures, building strong investment portfolios in Life sciences. Alexandra has led more than 30 VC investments across biotechnology, medtech, digital health and healthcare services and served on the board of directors of several companies across Europe and the United States. Before moving into venture capital, Alexandra spent a decade as a drug discovery scientist at VIB in Belgium and the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), and till now she has a soft spot for company creation and translation of breakthrough science into differentiating products for the patients.
